Who
We Are
We are parents. We are active members of our community. We are
hard-working. We love to cook and we love to eat. We are caterers.
We are Lisa & Gilbert Verdiglione.
Born and raised in Everett, Pennsylvania, we were high school
sweethearts who married early. We have one son, Tony, a college
student adjusting to life away from home.
Gilbert’s a mechanic by training and works for the Turnpike.
Lisa has an associate’s degree in accounting and is employed
by Thomas Chevrolet.
As life-long residents of Bedford County, we’ve been involved
in our community and continue to volunteer
our efforts as often as possible. Although we are both employed
full-time, our son’s going off to college and our love of
cooking led us to consider opening our own business . . . Dreamers
Catering.
About Dreamers Catering
For many years, our dream was to start our own business. Because
we both enjoy cooking and entertaining, something with food seemed
natural. We started roasting pigs for family and friends. After
hosting a backyard party a few years ago, someone asked if we’d
consider catering a company picnic. Naïve as we were at the
time, we agreed to prepare a meal for 250! It was a hit.
Today, with more than three years under our belt, our family-owned
business has grown to include catering services for all sorts
of events from family and class reunions to anniversary parties
and weddings.
We’ve been blessed with wonderful family and friends who
have provided their help along the way and who continue to help
make each catering event – no matter how large or small
– a success. Friends have lent a hand by building customized
roasters, setting up for events and helping to serve meals to
our clients.
Both of our mothers have played significant roles in our success.
Gilbert’s mom is an Italian immigrant with hundreds of family
recipes to share. As with all authentic Italian cooking, Dreamers
Catering has incorporated the practice of using only fresh produce.
Lisa’s mom was a prep cook for two local restaurants for
years, and has brought her experience of the restaurant business
and cooking on a large scale.
Although he passed away in 1990, years before the birth of our
catering business, it was Gilbert’s father who inspired
the name Dreamers Catering. Every time Gilbert talked about owning
his own business, his dad would say, “You’re such
a dreamer!” We think he’d be proud now, as we know
Lisa’s dad was until his recent death this year.
Experience Dreamers Catering – a reality, thanks to hard
work and support from our family, friends and community.
